JavaScript : Recent Posts and associated images

I had came across with one of the WordPress Themes which is called "The Morning After" created by Arun Kale and I was thinking to convert the theme to Blogger. But then, I realized, the theme design is grid-based and has the following requested feature - "Recent posts highlighting" also known as recent posts with thumbnail images. (news upadate as at May 26 2008, I've ported the above theme and soon to be released. Come back later for more ported WordPress Themes.)

The search for the widget was successful and I landed on a blog site of VietWebguide.com where I found the info about the widget. The steps provided below for customising various aspects of the widget applies as follows:-

1- Login to your Dashboard> Layouts> Page Elements>
2- Click on 'Add a Page Element' which is under your sidebar.
3- Chose to add Html/Javascript.
4- Copy and paste the following code:-

5- Save changes.

Note -
The red color indicates you may specify/change/edit to your needs.
The green color is meant for the default images.
The blue color is for you to change to your own url.

The ‘Recent Posts’ area on the main page displays the next 10 (by default) latest posts (after the very latest one, in descending order). The end result is shown below:-
