Blogging Tip : How to Add the Yahoo Buzz Button

Before I get started, let me briefly tell you what is Yahoo Buzz. Cited from Entrecard Blog -
Yahoo Buzz has officially launched. This is their digg-style service where people vote on articles, only instead of being pushed to the #124-on-the-internet Digg homepage, you’re pushing them to the holy grail of all homepages, the Yahoo homepage. It is a dream come true for bloggers ...

If you would like to add the Yahoo Buzz button, here is a quick guide on how it can be done. Firstly, you need to have Yahoo accounts. If you don’t, you’ll need to visit this registration page to sign up for Yahoo.Login to your Blogger Dashboard> Layout> Edit Html. Check the Expand Widget Template check box.

Press Ctrl+F and type <data:post.body/> in the search box.

And place the below code right before it.

<div style='float:right; margin-left:10px;'>
<script type='text/javascript'>;
yahooBuzzArticleHeadline = &quot;$$$ OnlineBiz&quot;;
yahooBuzzArticleSummary = &quot;MY Version&quot;;
yahooBuzzArticleCategory = &quot;Business&quot;;
yahooBuzzArticleType = &quot;text&quot;;
yahooBuzzArticleId = window.location.href;
</script>
<script badgetype='square' src='http://d.yimg.com/ds/badge2.js' type='text/javascript'>ARTICLEURL</script>
</div>

The example is shown below.

Save the changes. Enjoy!

This entire page took only 23.4 seconds to fully load? Is that supposed to be good? I stayed just out of curiosity. Just saying.

@willthink4wine, I've started using AJAX techniques to reduce latency. Rather than round-trip through the server retrieving a completely new page with every click. Means that you can read the entire blog posts without reloading. Like my site having dozens of external objects, I need the speed test to improve my site performance. To help you kill your curiousity, my answer is Yes to your question. 23.4s is damn fast. - Cheers -
